CHILDUKHTARON
Childukhtaron, which in Tajik means «Forty Girls», is a red rock with springs in the Fan Mountains, towering above the gorge of the Karakul River. The legend tells of forty girls who came to the rock to create their creative activities and rest. One day a bird brought them news of a bandit attack on their village. The girls prayed to the mountain spirits, and they turned them into nymphs and guardians of this place.
